If you are experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
The Las Vegas desert heat is unforgiving. When your body can no longer cool itself, heat exhaustion can rapidly escalate into a life-threatening heat stroke. At Sahara West Urgent Care, we provide professional medical evaluations and rapid intervention for patients suffering from heat-related illnesses.
In Las Vegas, “just being tired” can be a sign of something much more serious. Seek immediate medical attention if you or a loved one experience:
High Body Temperature: A core temperature of $104^\circ\text{F}$ ($40^\circ\text{C}$) or higher.
Altered Mental State: Confusion, agitation, slurred speech, or irritability.
Alteration in Sweating: In heat stroke brought on by hot weather, your skin will feel hot and dry to the touch.
Nausea and Vomiting: Feeling sick to your stomach or throwing up.
Rapid Breathing and Heart Rate: Your pulse may significantly increase as heart strain grows.
Our clinic is equipped with the specific tools needed to stabilize heat stress and prevent organ damage. Our evaluation includes:
We utilize evidence-based cooling methods, including cold-pack application to strategic vascular points (neck, groin, and armpits) and evaporative cooling to lower core temperatures safely.
Dehydration is a primary driver of heat illness. We provide:
Normal Saline ($0.9\%$ Sodium Chloride): For rapid volume expansion.
Lactated Ringer’s: To restore critical electrolyte balance (Potassium, Calcium, Sodium).
Temperature-Regulated Fluids: Specifically administered to aid internal cooling.
We monitor heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. If our providers suspect rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown) or kidney distress, we perform on-site labs or coordinate immediate hospital transfer.
Las Vegas Heat Expertise: Our providers are veterans of Nevada’s climate and understand the unique “dry heat” dehydration patterns.
Short Wait Times: Heat stroke is a race against the clock. We prioritize patients showing signs of heat distress.
Comprehensive Care: From IV therapy to EKG monitoring, we provide hospital-grade evaluation without the ER wait.
If you are suffering from heat exhaustion, don’t wait. Our West Sahara Ave location is designed for easy access and rapid patient intake.
Yes, for moderate heat exhaustion and initial heat stroke evaluation. However, if a patient is unconscious or seizing, they require an Emergency Room. We provide rapid stabilization and can coordinate higher-level care if necessary.
Initial vitals and cooling begin immediately upon arrival. A full evaluation and IV hydration session typically last 60–90 minutes depending on the severity of dehydration.

An excellent resource for healthPosted on Kyle MusialTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've been coming here for B12 shots and check ups for almost two years now. The entire staff is always so sweet and helpful, and makes my shots quick and painless. My last couple visits, I've been lucky enough to be helped by Yara at the desk. Yara always makes my trips here pleasant, and gets me in and out so fast! Grateful for Yara and the entire staff here, definitely recommend coming here, whether you need a vitamin boost, or you aren't feeling well.Posted on Erick NunezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
